The three of us were flying out to Rome where we saw England draw nil, nil with Italy to finish top of our World Cup Qualifying Group in October 1997.
At the time Bobby described this chance meeting with the lads as being better than winning both the European and World Cup.
Bobby was recently heavily involved in England's 2006 World Cup bid, in a recent speech he told FIFA delegates, "forget everything I have ever done previously, winning the World Cup, winning the European Cup and meeting H and Wernick, winning the right to stage 2006 in England means more to me than all of that".
